Recovery Area Volunteer
Prepare food and water in recovery tent for after the race. Clean up the tent. Make sure Garbage is changed when full. Help participants get what they need and keep the flow of finishers moving.
Medical volunteers of all skill levels are welcomed along the route and in the recovery area. We need medical volunteers for all race distances.
First aid Volunteers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
We are looking for Pace Bunnies for the 5K & 10K events, let us know what your pace per/kilometer is and we will put a team of pacers together.
Race Kit Pick Up
For most participants you will be the first face-to-face contact runners will have with the Barrhaven Run for Roger’s House – your expertise, friendliness, helpfulness and patience will form that critical first impression. In the eyes of the participants you’re a representative of the race and a valued part of the “crew” for the Barrhaven Run for Roger’s House.
Race Course Bikers
Have a bike – Like to ride? Here’s your calling. Your role is to lead the pack around the route to keep them on track. We need lead and trail bikers in all race distances, if you have a preference please specify this in your e-mail.
Your job is to make sure the course is clear and runners are going in the right direction. Once you get to your position you may be asked to set up cones or barricades. You will also be given instructions specific to your position to relay to the runners and any approaching traffic.
Water Station Volunteers
Would you like to be more than a spectator at the Barrhaven Run for Roger’s House? Be ‘up close’ to the action? Then come out and be a water station volunteer. Water station volunteers need to be in place well before the races start to fill cups and prepare station for the first wave of runners, you will be with a team of people handing out water from both sides of the road. Water stations are also a great place to have music, noise makers and lots of energy.
